The Crown

What Ascension Earns

Three permanent titles are awarded at the end of each season, based on the current qualification rules.

1st

The Ascended

Season champion. Permanently enshrined in the Hall of the Ascended.

2nd

Ascension Finalist

Second place. A permanent, recognized finish in the season record.

3rd

Ascension Vanguard

Third place. Permanently recognized among the season's leaders.

Top finishers may also propose a creative reward, subject to final approval by 2nd Wind Games. Ascension never processes player payments online — the $10 entry is paid in person at the store.

Recommended 1v1 Format: Undefeated Progression

Undefeated Progression keeps players in the event and pairs the winningest players against each other until only one undefeated player remains.

Round Robin (full play) and Double Elimination (knockout with a losers bracket) are also available.

Event Setup

Players are paired each round by record. Undefeated players face other undefeated players when possible. The last undefeated player is the event winner. Everyone keeps playing until only one undefeated player remains.

Event Rules Quick Reference

  • Legal deck size: 51 to 61 cards total, including the leader.
  • Players may use 1 leader.
  • Up to 4 copies of each non-leader card unless a card says otherwise. Basic Energy is unlimited; Empowered Energy is limited to 4 copies.
  • Tournament Best-of-3 matches allow a 10-card side deck.
  • Multiplayer modes use Slow Mode by default, except Casual Chaos.
  • Casual Chaos is a 3-player 1v1v1 format with normal mirrored action windows.
  • Alliance War is 2v2 with shared team Influence (Slow Mode).
  • Kingdom War is 3v3 — each team has 1 King and 2 Guards. Each player has their own Influence.
