Stories of the Past

Chronicle of Auroria

The ancient history that still shapes the present age.

Cassius the First King

Over 400 years ago from the present date, Centorum stood at its ends with itself. Made up of hundreds of small tribes all fighting over territory, and all lurking in fear of the one true danger that roamed the land, "Stryders". Cassius and his tribe were defending their colony from an invading tribe when amongst the fighting a pack of Stryders emerged from the woods; they began attacking and killing the warriors without bias. When the two separate tribes had realized what was happening it was almost all but too late. Cassius watched as his enemy and allies alike ran, and cowered in fear. He knew there was no slaying these creatures, he sought to do the only thing no one before him had ever attempted. Instead of fleeing, or trying to fight these creatures he knelt before them unafraid.

This action, for whatever reason, would lead to the Stryders leaving the area in peace. It would also lead to a union of the two warring tribes. Word of mouth would spread, and tribes from all over Centorum began to band together, in search to find the man who tamed the Stryders. This would lead to Cassius meeting his greatest friend, who would later become his advisor; as the tribes of Centorum would crown Cassius the First King of Centorum; and a great unifier of the people.

Eldred the Martyr

Eldred would become Cassius's greatest friend upon being one of the first people from another tribe to pledge their allegiance and loyalty to him. He even acted as king when Cassius left to venture into Eden to meet new people outside of his continent, as he attempted to strengthen his new found kingdom.

Cassius was gone for weeks, and when he returned Eldred could sense that he was not of right mind. The actions of his once virtuous king became more and more dubious. Cassius had gathered the massive following that he had amassed and sailed them to Eden in order to conquer the land, and claim the Tree of Life. Eldred was said to have an army of 100,000 men on the shores of Eden. As Cassius marched his soldiers onto the Eden soils making their way to the Tree of Life, Eldred tried to plead with Cassius one final time, to no avail.

This caused a battle between two of the most powerful figures on the planet. With power granted to Eldred from the Tree of Life, he was able to call upon the Goddess of Life Gia. The presence of this great being caused the Island of Eden to break apart into four smaller islands, creating the Isles of Eden. All those who sought to do harm to the Tree of Life were turned into stone, including Eldred.

Cassius's statue was placed into a tomb on the remote island of Unden. Eldred's statue was recovered by the people of Eden and praised for his heroism. The statues of the other aggressors still remain on the western-most island.

Romm the Corruptor

Once a noble of Eden, Romm had devoted his entire life to the Tree of Life and The Creator, who at the time was believed to be the sole God of the universe. Word of a young man from Centorum who was able to communicate with the Stryders had spread to Eden. Romm became riddled with envy as he believed someone who had never even seen the tree should not have received this great honor. Romm convinced the elders of Eden to invite Cassius to visit the tree and talk to him about the Stryders.

After convincing Eden's elders, he immediately sought after the help of Ashur, an ancient demon, sealed away by Eden's greatest sages. Ashur would grant Romm knowledge of dark magic, and Romm would use that knowledge to corrupt Cassius.

When Romm was eventually found out, he was sentenced to exile from Eden, where he eventually died on the Island of Unden.
